Virginia Ann Bright, 78, Carthage, Missouri, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023, in Carthage, Missouri. Born on January 9, 1945, in Webb City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Don R. Bull Jr, and Marjorie A. (Ervin) Bull. Virginia lived a life full of love, kindness, and thoughtfulness that touched everyone she knew. Her warmth and generosity of spirit were evident in all aspects of her life, and she will be deeply missed.

Virginia was a proud alumna of Webb City High School, graduating with the class of 1963. She married Edward Bright on May 6, 1967, Carthage, Missouri, he preceded her in death on April 4, 2011. Virginia worked at Safeway Cheese in Carthage for many years. Virginia found great joy in fishing and bowling. Virginia’s love for reading was another cornerstone of her life. But perhaps the most important aspect of Virginia’s life was her devotion to her family. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, especially at family events, and her presence will be profoundly missed.

Survivors include her children, Edward Bright II (Candi), Carthage, Missouri, Ginger Barnard (Adam), Reeds, Missouri; grandchildren, Chance Bright, Chandler Bright, Caroline Bright, Carson Barnard (Sheridan), Gage Barnard, and Grant Irwin; sisters, Joan Harm (Vernon), Platte City, Missouri, and Patricia Leger (Dale), Foley, Alabama, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 10 am, Monday, October 16, 2023, at Park Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of Knell Mortuary.
