Sandra Lee “Fasken” Newman, 81, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at her residence in Carthage, Missouri. Sandra was born September 10, 1940 in Carthage, Missouri to Lawrence Clinton Fasken and Helen Irene Carter. She was a lifetime resident of Carthage, Missouri. Sandra worked as an accountant at Big Smith for many years. She also worked side-by-side with her husband, Gary, at the family farm doing whatever needed to be done. Sandra loved being outdoors and could cook a family meal, WITH PIE, in under 30 minutes. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Carthage, Missouri.
Sandra was united in marriage to Gary Newman in October 1984; he preceded her in death.
Sandra is survived by her grandson, Eric Leek and wife, Becky, of Carthage, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Annabelle, Jace and Colt; two sisters, Barbara Little of Avilla, Missouri and Sharon Cooley of Carthage, Missouri; and the daughter she never had, Delores Dermott of Carthage, Missouri.
Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Newman; her son, Brian Scott McWilliams on May 3, 2021; her parents, Lawrence and Helen Fasken; and her brother Lawrence Ray Fasken in July 2020.
A Memorial Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Fasken Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
