Lois Christine Hall

Lois Christine Hall, age 90, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 8:42 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center.  She was born September 14, 1928, in Fairview, Oklahoma, the daughter of Robert Gordon and Jonnie Amanda (Rodenhouse) Byrd.

Lois was a 1946 graduate of Headrick High School in Headrick, Oklahoma. On November 10, 1945, she married Foy Earl Hall in Vernon, Texas and together they owned and operator a grocery store, gas station and restaurant in Carthage, Missouri before moving to Mt. Vernon in 1975 where they owned Hall’s Restaurant.  Lois was employed at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon and was an In Home Care Assistant for Oxford Home Care.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.

Lois is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis King of Mt. Vernon and Lisa Hyde and her husband, Paul, of Clever, Missouri; two sons, David Hall and Kem Hall and his wife, Mary, all of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Roberta Byrd of Lawton, Oklahoma; one brother, Jim Byrd of Mangum, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, Robert and Jonnie, husband, Earl, two brothers, Dave and Doug Byrd and two sisters, Faye Walker and Shirley Clark, preceded her in death.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Summit Cemetery northeast of Mt. Vernon.
