Gertrude G. House, 99, passed away March 30, 2019 at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation. She was born March 10, 1920 in Garland, AR to William and Mary “Smith” George. Gertrude was a seamstress and owned Carthage Tailor Shop. She attended Free Will Baptist Church west of Carthage, and loved sewing and fishing.
Gertrude was united in marriage to Frank House, Jr. on July 19, 2002 in Miami, OK; he survives. She was also married to Dewey Rogers from 1935 to 1971, Raymond Brewer from 1976 to 1990, and C.C. “Bud” Sloniker from 1992 to 2002.
Gertrude is survived by many nieces, nephews and step-children.
Gertrude was preceded in death by Dewey, Raymond and “Bud”; three brothers, Clyde, Ocie and Herbert George; four sisters, Myrtle George, Stella Moore, Adalea Masterson and Mamie Maynard.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Wild Rose Cemetery (also known as Webb City Cemetery).
