Dale Allen Smith, 88, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Carthage. Dale was born December 17, 1930 in Superior, Nebraska to Ernest Leroy and Iva “Prickett” Smith. He was a lifetime Carthage resident and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Dale worked eight years for Beck Casket Company and 37 years for Flex-O-Lators, both in Carthage.
Dale was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Sumners” on March 4, 1949 in Carthage; she survives.
Dale is also survived by two daughters, Ellen Spicer (Duane) of Webb City and Janice Lown (Hyrl) of Carthage; four grandsons, three great grandsons and five great granddaughters.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Bruce Smith in 2012; one daughter, Sherry Ramsay in 2017; five brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage.
