Chester R. Holzwarth, 89, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Chester was born on March 7, 1934, to Gould Holzwarth and Mable “Irwin” Holzwarth in Sheldon, Missouri. He owned and operated Holzwarth Construction Company for several years. During his spare time, he really enjoyed going fishing.
Chester was united in marriage to Nellie Lovell on July 7, 1956, in Nevada, Missouri; she survives.
Along with his wife Nellie Holzwarth, he is survived by one son Randy Holzwarth (Cathy) of Carthage; three daughters, Rhonda Craig (Mike), Cathy Diggs (Rex), and Christina Ellis (Kelly) all of Carthage; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and one sister Juanita Bland.
Chester was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Rodney Holzwarth (June 8, 2021).
A graveside service will be held for Chester at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
