CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage VFW Post 2590 is pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Scholarship contest. The awards were presented by Commander Mike Juris Monday, Dec. 11, 2023, at the VFW.
The Patriot Pen Winners are:
- First place Tucker Reed
- Second place Luke Patrick
- Third place Allie Boyer
The Voice of Democracy winner this year is Hailey Nord.

Three teachers were also awarded for their hard work and dedication to our community. Post level Teacher of the year awards go to:
- Elementary School, 1st place Skeeter Wagner K-5.
- Jr High School, 1st place Mrs. Jessica Page 6-8th grade
- Sr. High School, 1st place Amber Hunt 9th-12th grade
