Ronald Louis “Ron” Davis, 78, Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2024, at his home with family by his side. Ron was born on July 22, 1945, in Carthage, Missouri, the son of the late William Davis and Betty (Grunnert) Davis. For many years, Ron dedicated his professional life to ensuring comfort and safety in homes and businesses as a skilled heating and air technician with Wilson Heating & Air. His career also saw him contributing his talents to Steadley and Carthage Crushed Limestone in Carthage, as well as serving as a mechanic for the Kansas City Kansas Street Department. His work was not just a job but a reflection of his commitment to service and excellence. He married Karen Irvin on February 14, 1996, in Carthage, Missouri.

Ron’s interests and hobbies were those of a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, enjoying nature while waiting for the next big catch. His passion for cars was evident in the collection he maintained and worked on with meticulous care. Ron’s workshop was a sanctuary where he could tinker to his heart’s content. Lastly, Ron enjoyed catching up on the latest news or just relaxing and playing games on his tablet. He was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Carthage.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 28 years, Karen Davis; his children, Ronald Davis, William Davis, Rex Davis, Sharon Davis, Ray Doty, Dale Doty, Randy Doty, Timothy Doty, Stephen Johnson, and Melinda Owings (Jim); his grandchildren, Travis Garrison, Alex Owings, and Megan Pi-ga; his brother, Rex Davis; his sister, Connie Lee; and many extended family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Kathy Desourdy; two brothers, William Davis and Kenny Davis; and two sisters, Sharon Johnson and Sherry Bowman.

Graveside services will be held 10 am, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. Memorial gifts are suggested to Integrity Hospice in care of Knell Mortuary.
