Margaret L. Manley, age 94, Jasper, Missouri, passed away Saturday morning, October 12, 2019 at her home with family by her side.

Margaret was born September 24, 1925 in Barton County, Missouri to the late James A. Still and Esther Nadeane (Stith) Still. She was a 1945 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. Margaret then attended Joplin Junior College and Bolivar to receive her degree in education. She worked as a teacher in primary school for Cedar Bluff, Alba, Missouri and for Pleasant View, east of Jasper, Missouri. Margaret then worked for Borden’s Milk Plant in Jasper. For most of her life, Margaret baked and decorated wedding and birthday cakes. She married Lee Manley on August 1, 1948 in Carthage, Missouri. Margaret was a member of the TW Club, a social club for women, for many years. She was also a member and active in the United Methodist Women’s Organization for 65 years and the Jasper United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Lee; one daughter, Cynthia A. Smith (husband Robert), Mindenmines, Missouri; one son Jim Lee Manley (wife Nancy), Oronogo, Missouri; two brothers, James Still (wife Florence), Carthage, and Richard Still (wife Fern), Carthage; four sisters, Bonibel Wilson, Altoona, Iowa, Maribeth Ward, Carthage, Connie Barclay (husband Cecil), Fair Grove, Missouri, and Elizabeth Wilson (husband Bill), Carthage; four grandchildren, Jessica Case (husband Allen), Carthage, Justin Smith (wife Amy), Lamar, Missouri, Jason Manley (wife Callie Ann), Oronogo, and Michael Manley (wife Erin), Joplin, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey Still and Leland Still; and three sisters, Mermyl Wyant, Betty James and Nancy Still.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Knell Mortuary. Interment will follow the service at Paradise Cemetery, Jasper.
