Leonard Gail Franklin Sr., 73, passed away at his home Thursday June 16, 2022 in Carthage, Missouri. Leonard was born January 28, 1949 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to Arlie Roy Franklin and Virginia A. “Sander” Franklin. He was a life time resident of Jasper County. Leonard worked for Americold in Carthage for 42 years.
Leonard was united in marriage to his wife Vera “Cookie” “Lane” on August 25, 1967 in Carthage, Missouri; she survives.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Vera “Cookie“ Franklin; three sons, Ben Franklin(Dedria) of Joplin, MO, Lonnie E. Franklin (April) of Ozark, Missouri, Harlan Franklin of Carthage, MO, one daughter; Kathy Andrews of Carthage, MO, three brothers; Denver Franklin, Donald Franklin and Daniel Franklin all of Carthage, MO, three sisters; Darlene Dixon and Jane Lee both of Carthage, MO and Susie Mitchell of Kansas City, MO, 23 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Leonard is preceded in death by one son, Timothy M. Franklin February 25, 2010, one brother, Gary Franklin, one sister, Janice Franklin, one granddaughter, Darcie Franklin in 2015, on great grandson, Stiles Franklin in 2019 and one great granddaughter, Emily Franklin.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Online condolences maybe sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
