Alva Sherman Hale, 81, of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin Missouri. Alva was born on June 25, 1940 in Parkland, Oklahoma to Arthur D’Moss Hale and Bertha E. Leatha Earnest. Alva was a train dispatcher for Southern Pacific Rail Road, served in the U.S. Army, and really enjoyed fishing and golfing.
He is survived by his son Sherman Hale; two daughters Vicki Hale, and Stephanie Hale; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Bertha Hale.
A funeral service is scheduled for Alva at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage on Friday, January 7, 2022.
