Alavaro Rivas, 28, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in Joplin from a car accident.
Alavaro was born on January 8, 1992, in Long Beach, CA to Winson Lopez and Julia Carmen-Lopez. He had been a Carthage resident since 1993. He was employed as a tele-marketer for Alorica Inc. in Joplin.
Alavaro is survived by his parents; one brother, Christopher Rivas of the home; two sisters, Yolanda Rivas and Acucena Rivas of the home; his paternal grandmother, Yolanda Monterroso of Carthage; his maternal grandmother, Maria Delrosario Carias.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Casa de Sanidad, 122 Grant St. in Carthage. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Fasken Cemetery, northeast of Carthage.
