Johnson Enters a Plea of Not Guilty

A 21-year-old Carthage, Mo., man is facing a drug-related felony charge in Saline County after he was found to be in possession of a large amount of drugs.

Authorities were notified that Chase Johnson was transporting marijuana from Colorado to Missouri at which time, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, obtained a search warrant to ping Johnson’s phone. After several days of monitoring, Johnson’s phone showed that he was traveling back toward Missouri from Colorado.

Once the trooper located Johnson on July 6, a probable-cause search revealed seven vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana weighing approximately 3.89 pounds.

Johnson has been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Johnson posted $10,000 surety bond on August 10, 2020.

Johnson’s attorney waived formal arraignment on February 8 and entered a not guilty plea for Johnson at that time. A Plea/Trial Setting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, March 22 at Saline County Circuit Court.
