CARTHAGE, Mo. – Carthage Community Foundation and Community Foundation of the Ozarks have opened applications for roughly $1.75 million in scholarships for students in southern Missouri pursuing advanced educational opportunities and technical training programs for the 2021-22 school year.

Information about the scholarship opportunities is available at cfozarks.org/scholarships. From there, students will be required to answer two eligibility questions, which will bring up a list of scholarships for which the student may be eligible. Application deadlines vary, with the first due in mid-March. Amounts range from $250 to $6,000 per academic year, with some renewable for up to three additional years.

Examples of scholarships for Carthage area students include:

  • Thelma Stanley Jayhawk Scholarships – $4,000
  • Thelma M. Stanley for Education Scholarships – $4,000
  • Hands to Work Hearts to God Scholarship – $2,000
  • Quigley Jasper Co. Christian Athlete Scholarship – $500
  • Dr. William B. McIntyre Scholarship – $600

Funding is made possible by generous donors in the Carthage community who established permanent endowed scholarship funds with CCF to support generations students with their education. The CCF Board of Directors and Scholarship Committee are honored to help carry out these donors’ wishes, continuing their legacy of giving and supporting students in our community and region. Because these funds are established by individuals, families or organizations with specific intentions, such as graduating from the donor’s alma mater or pursuing a certain field of study, each scholarship lists criteria for eligibility. Students are encouraged to search by city, county, high school, college attending, and/or field of study to find all opportunities for which they might qualify.
