Riddle breaks mile record again as Lions compete at Northwest Missouri

MARYVILLE – The Missouri Southern men’s and women’s track and field teams picked up six event wins and a school record as the Lions competed in the Bearcat Invite at Northwest Missouri State.
 
In total, the Lions had eight event wins, ten NCAA Provisional Qualifying marks and two school records during the two days of competition.
 
The women’s 60-meter dash belonged to Jasmine Deckard winning with a time of 7.69. Cornesia Calhoun-White won the 60-meter hurdles at 8.83. Kelie Henderson picked up the win in the women’s mile run with a time of 5:07.55, as Juana Hautala was close behind at 5:08.42 crossing the finish line second.
 
On the men’s side Ryan Riddle finished the mile run with a new MSSU record time of 4:02.86 that is an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time narrowly missing Automatic Qualification. Adrain Broadus picked up the win in the men’s triple jump with a leap of 14.46m (47′ 5.25″). 
  
Bryan Candrl won the men’s pole vault with a NCAA Provisonal Qualifying jump of 4.79m (15′ 8.5″) and Dean Howard came in third with a jump at the same height.  Josh Fulmer won the men’s weight throw with an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark of 19.13m (62′ 9.25″) and Connor Boyd finished third with a throw of 17.66m (57′ 11.25″).
 
Chardae Overstreet finished third in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 25.02. Overstreet came in second in the 400-meter dash with a NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 56.42, as LaNea Wallace crossed the line in third at 56.99.  
 
Gabe McClain finished third in the men’s 800m with a NCAA Provisional Qualifying time of 1:52.32. Claire Luallen finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.53m (18′ 1.75″).
