MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Missouri Southern men’s track and field team finished fifth today as the Lions competed in the 2019 MIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Northwest Missouri State University at Hughes Fieldhouse.
The Lions had two All-MIAA performances on the day (Douglas Depagneux – 400m, Gidieon Kimuatai – 3k) and three NCAA Provisional Qualifying Marks on the day. Depagneux registered a provisional mark in the 400m, while DeShaun Williams (high jump) and Rajindra Campbell (shot put) picked up NCAA Provisional Marks, as well.
The Lions finsihed in fifth with 67 points, just six points out of fourth. Central Missouri won the men’s title with 121 points, while Northwest Missouri was second with 115. Pittsburg State was third, followed by Lincoln, the Lions, Fort Hays State, Nebraska-Kearney, Lindenwood, Washburn, Southwest Baptist, Emporia State and Missouri Western.
In total, Southern had four All-MIAA performances and one individual title at the Championship. That list, as well as today’s results are posted below.
