December 2 marked the first day lawmakers could pre-file legislation for the 2020 legislative session. Following the first few days of pre-filing, senators had already submitted more than 250 Senate Bills more than 20 Senate joint resolutions.

So far, I have filed 13 Senate bills. I believe these bills address some of the issues that are most important to the people I serve across the 32nd Senatorial District.

Here a few of the bills I have pre-filed so far:

Senate Bill 718 modifies laws relating to military families, including state designations, programs implemented by the state attorney general, teacher licensing, developmental disability services and child protection.

Senate Bill 667 states that any costs which are the responsibility of a defendant in a criminal case to pay may be collected as court costs and disbursed to the state or the county in which the case takes place.

Senate Bill 666 requires there to be no restrictions imposed on individual antipsychotic medication for MO HealthNet participants.

Senate Bill 749 requires health insurance policies to provide coverage for hearing instruments and related services for enrollees under the age of 18.

Christmas Cheer in the 32nd Senatorial District

Over the course of the upcoming weeks, there will be several parades, tree lighting ceremonies and charitable events that offer ways to spread the Christmas cheer in our community. One of many charitable events that I enjoy participating in is Operation Christmas Card, hosted by the United Soldiers and Sailors of America. This organization collects and sends thousands of Christmas cards to soldiers who are serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the world and will not be able to spend time with their families and friends during the holidays. This is just one way to get involved and let the soldiers know they have not been forgotten. I truly believe Christmas is about being a blessing to others, and I encourage you all to get involved in your local charities.
