Wilda Nadine Crow, age, 84, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center Carthage, Missouri. Wilda was born on March 31, 1938, in Miller, Missouri, the daughter of the late James Johnson and Violet (Carpenter) Johnson. Wilda ran and operated Ray’s Café for two years. She then waitressed at Nicholsons’s Café and Village Café. She married Delbert L. Crow on June 8, 1968, in Carthage, he preceded her in death on June 7, 2015. Wilda enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casino, but most of all spending time with her kids, grandkids, and other family.
Survivors include her children, Charlotte Bice (Larry), Carthage, Missouri, Linda McCaskill (Carlyle), Carthage, Missouri, Danielle Doubet (David Clanin), Cleora, Oklahoma, Hayley Allen (Robert), Webb City, Missouri, and Benjamin “Charlie” Crow (Julie), Joplin, Missouri; stepchildren, Leona Hong, Byrnes Mill, Missouri, and Leroy Boatwright (Kathy), Anderson, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Larry Brandon Lewis, Lydia Foster, Javier Vasquez Jr., Hannah Blackwell, Alec Doubet, Deitrik Crow, Hayden Fitch, Whitley Crow, Kristin Burkhart, Alex Smith, Lilly Crow, and Maxwell Charles Crow; a sister, Martha June Pettigrew, Paris, Arkansas; a step brother, Bill Whittenberg, Miller, Missouri; long time care giver, Caitlyn Tracy; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and she loved them all.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Allen Johnson, Murl Johnson, Victor Johnson, and John D. Johnson; four sisters, Alma Vanek, Datha Taylor, Clovis Dinito, and Atha Cole; a niece, Beth Johnson Garza; two nephews, Michael Dinito, and Don Heckmaster.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, January 6, 2023, at Knell Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday January 5, 2023, at Knell Mortuary. The family suggests contributions to the Carthage Humane Society in care of Knell Mortuary.
