Virginia Gene Williams, 85, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday evening, March 9, 2021, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Lamar, Missouri.
Virginia was born December 17, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of the late Jahue Pratt and Thelma (Marshall) Pratt. She married Sherman C. Williams on October 24, 1954, in Carthage, Missouri; he preceded her in death on September 8, 2007. Virginia worked on the production line for Schreiber Foods in Carthage for 23 years. She was also a team driver with her husband. Virginia loved working puzzles, painting, photography and traveling, but most of all, loved her family.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Lee Williams; a daughter, Deanna Prusha; three granddaughters, Megan Williams, Hailey Williams, and Daisy Escalera; a cousin, Ella McCoy; a great-nephew, Derrick Coffman Pratt; and many extended family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Perrin Williams; four brothers, Jay Pratt, Phillip Pratt, Michael Pratt, and Virgil Nelson; and two sisters, Beverly Barber, and Juanita Harter.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2 pm, Friday, March 12, 2021, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. The family will receive friends before the service from 1-2 pm at Knell Mortuary, Carthage.
