Rose Marie Douglass, 93, passed away on January 22, 2024, in Joplin, Missouri. She was born in Library, Pennsylvania, on April 29, 1930, the daughter of the late George Frye and Edna (Pearl) Frye. She held a special place in her heart for her family, which was reflected in her loving friendship with her sister, Dorothy. Rose’s life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, a pursuit of knowledge and a deep appreciation for a great book and the simple joys of life.

Rose was a 1948 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School. She carried the torch of lifelong learning from her early days into her later years. Her academic journey continued at Penn State University, where she furthered her education and established the foundation for the wisdom she would share so generously with others, specifically her church and grandchildren.

Rose married her soulmate, Thomas J. Douglass, and together they built a life filled with love. The couple’s enduring partnership spanned an incredible 71 years of marriage. A love that lasts a lifetime.
