LaCynda Sue “Cindy” Loomis, 63, Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023, at Carthage Health and Rehab, Carthage, Missouri.
Cindy was born February 19, 1960, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of James and Loretta (Schaffer) Loomis. She was a 1978 graduate of Carthage High School, where she was very active in marching band and choir. Cindy was very talented in “customer service” from a bank teller to being a manager of a large apartment complex. Cindy currently worked as a receptionist for Frank Fletcher in Joplin, Missouri. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Carthage. She was an animal lover, especially her two cats, but most of all, loved her family.
Survivors include her parents, Jim, and Loretta Loomis; two sisters, Deborah Apfel (Michael), and Melissa Loomis; two nephews, Andrew Apfel and Luke Miller; a niece, Grace Miller; five cousins; and many extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Loomis II.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 2 pm Friday, March 24, 2023, at Park Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Carthage Humane Society. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
