Gary C. “Stoney” Stone, 75, of Carterville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his home. Gary was born November 28, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri to Frank Stone and Margaret Bowling. He was a long-time Carterville resident. Stoney retired from Schreiber Foods after 30 plus years. He loved hot coffee and conversation and cherished his friendships. Stoney didn’t know a stranger!
Gary is survived by a son, Ryan Stone (Greg) of Summerville, South Carolina; a daughter, Amanda Stone (David) of Carthage, Missouri; one sister, Sharon Blankenship (Bob) of Carthage, Missouri; and one beloved granddaughter, Mia Miles.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Margaret Stone, a sister, Carolyn Blevins, and several dear friends.
As per Stoney’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a service will be held at a later date.
