Dorothy Lorene Elliott, 91, Lamar, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. She was born on June 17, 1932, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of the late John and Bertha (Birchfield) Hall. She married Bobbie Elliott on June 20, 1964; he preceded her in death on February 1, 1996. Dorothy was a devoted wife, and mother, and truly loved her family and raising kids.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Elliott (Victoria), Bobby Elliott (Patricia), Danny Houston, Rodger Houston (Judy), Cindy Smith, Sue Nafus (Garry), and Janet Smith (John); a sister, Wanda Hartzer; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Garey Houston; two brothers, Ted Hall (Nellie), and Donald Maggard; and a sister, Anna Mae Black.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 pm, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Knell Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 12 pm, Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
