Dora Jean (Johnson) Maggard, 73, of Webb City, MO, formerly of Carthage, MO, passed away Friday evening at a Joplin hospital.
Dora was born July 23, 1949, to George Willard Johnson and Mary Jane (Crabtree) Johnson. Dora was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the Jasper County area. She was a member of the Assembly of God Faith. Dora married Troy Leo Maggard Sept. 5, 1974, in Carthage, MO; he preceded her in death August 1, 2020.
Dora is survived by two sons, Dwayne Maggard (Traci) of Purcell, MO, and Jerry Johnson (Shannon) of Jeffersonville, IN; three daughters, Brenda McCoy (William) of Neck City, MO, Sheila Maggard of Lamar, MO, and Lisa Cusick of Poteau, OK.
Dora is also survived by four brothers, David, Paul, Leonard, and Mark Johnson; four sisters, Cora Bush, Rosemary Robinette, Donna Johnson, and Betty Johnson; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Jane Johnson; two daughters, Norma and Linda Maggard; and one granddaughter, Stephanie McCoy.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16,2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, MO. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Reeds Cemetery in Reeds, MO. Funeral service officiant will be Pastor Chad Johnson. Attending pall bearers will be Dora’s grandsons, Dewayne Maggard, II, Kevin Maggard, Bradley Cusick, Cory Hunter, Bradlee See, and Nathan Wilson.
