A Carthage woman faces misdemeanor charges of sexual misconduct and trespassing after allegedly running around the Super 7 Hotel on Range Line Road in Joplin in the nude Saturday.

Among those who witnessed the activity, according to a probable cause statement filed today in Jasper County Circuit Court were a woman and her four children.

An arrest warrant was issued for Ashley Janice Marie Degroat (DOB 1996) with bond set at $5,000 cash or surety.

From the probable cause statement:

On 09/06/2025, at approximately 10:28 hours, I, Officer Copeland, responded to 3031 S Rangeline Rd. regarding a report of a female subject running around the property nude and exposing her genitals.

Upon arrival, I contacted the subject, identified as Ashley Degroat, who was clothed at that time.

Representative of Victim 1 (Super 7 Hotel), identified to be Alisha Hicks the manager for the hotel, stated Ms. Degroat had been previously trespassed from the property, was on the property now, and refused to leave.

Victim 2, identified to be Victoria Webb, reported that just prior to my arrival she and her four juvenile children–Victim 3 (age 10), Victim 4 (age 11), Victim 5 (age 13), and Victim 6 (age 13)–observed Ms. Degroat outside of room 131 completely nude from the waist down. Ms. Webb stated Ms. Degroat’s breasts and genitals were clearly visible to her.

Ms. Webb stated Ms. Degroat’s genitals were clearly visible to Victim 3, Victim 4, Victim 5, and Victim 6 which caused extreme alarm and emotional distress to Ms. Webb and her children.
