WASHINGTON D.C. – Eighteen youth from Missouri traveled to Washington, D.C. for the 2024 4-H Citizenship Washington Focus conference, June 20-27, 2024. The delegation included:

Highlights of the trip included visits to the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, World War I Memorial, World War II Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Pentagon Memorial, Ulysess S. Grant Memorial, Air Force Memorial, US Marine Corps War Memorial, Smithsonian, US Botanic Garden, Capitol Hill, Library of Congress, Mount Vernon, Gettysburg National Military Park, and Arlington National Cemetery. Delegates also had the opportunity to participate in workshops where they learned about civic engagement, community service, and freedom of speech while connecting with other 4-H’ers from around the nation.
During their time in D.C., the delegation met with Madelyn Derks, Missouri 4-H alumnus, who now works for Representative Mark Alford, and Brock Boze, Legislative Assistant for Representative Emanuel Cleaver.
