Hall of Carthage Heroes seeks nominations for Class of 2019

The Hall of Carthage Heroes Oversight Committee is now accepting nominations for the Hall of Carthage Heroes Class of 2019. The Hall, located in the entry and main corridor of Fair Acres YMCA, honors Carthage heroes past and present. Made up of two divisions, the Hall recognizes Pioneers & Citizens of Distinction, as well as outstanding Athletes. All Carthage citizens inducted into the Hall have made a strong, positive impact on this city as it was born and grew, or contributed greatly to its reputation by the deeds they accomplished, and are worthy of emulation by today’s and succeeding generations.

Requirements and nomination forms can be found online at hallofcarthageheroes.org. Fully completed nominations, with appropriate back-up materials must be received by June 30, 2019 for consideration. Submission of names only, or nomination forms without substantiating back-up information will be disqualified. It is anticipated that 5 new inductees will be chosen this year to join the 74 Carthaginians inducted since 2012.

Final selection of the Hall of Carthage Heroes Class of 2019 will be made by an anonymous committee of Carthage residents in August, with the Class of 2019 induction ceremony in November.
