Webb City area teen is ninth confirmed case of COVID-19 in Jasper County

On Sunday, April 5, 2020, the Jasper County Health Department confirmed the ninth case of COVID-19 in Jasper County.
The individual is a resident of the Webb City area in their teens. According to the release from the health department “This is a travel related exposure.”
Identifying information will not be released to protect the patient’s right to privacy.
The Jasper County Health Department in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is working to determine any close contacts of this individual who were possibly exposed. If exposed, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and monitor them closely for the development of symptoms.
The number of cases in the county is likely to rise as more testing becomes available.
