CARTHAGE, Mo. — On Thursday, May 23 at around 12:30 p.m., the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office patrol and detectives responded to a home south of Carthage in reference to a report of a burglary in progress. The homeowners received an alert via video from a home security camera that observed a white male enter their home.
Within minutes of the initial call detectives arrived, seeing the back door of the home open and made entry to the residence where they encountered Richard Douglas Weaver aka “Ranger Rick” 56-year-old male of Joplin, MO in the kitchen of the residence.
Weaver was taken into custody and transported to the Jasper County Jail. Charges have been submitted against Weaver for Burglary 2nd degree and resisting arrest.
The charges for which the above were arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
