Lana Lou Royer, 61, Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully in Joplin, Missouri on October 30, 2023. Lana was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 29, 1962, to Marvin Wayne Floyd and Louetta Alice “Lou” (Maxson) Floyd. Lana’s radiant spirit and boundless love left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Lana was the cherished wife of Charles Royer, the beloved mother of Diana Martin (Anthony), Christina Moss (Daniel), and Gabe Royer (Tash), beloved daughter of Louetta “Lou” Floyd; and sister of Morris Floyd (Mary). Her love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she was blessed to be the adored grandmother of Sarah, Levi, Caleb, Cate, Ethan, and Anna. The Scott, Woodard, and Orr families will deeply miss Lana’s generous spirit, her infectious laughter, and her unyielding friendship. She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Wayne Floyd.
A proud graduate of Carthage High School’s class of 1980, Lana carried the lessons and friendships she forged there throughout her lifetime. She was a dedicated homemaker and an unwavering pillar of support for her family. Lana’s ability to create a loving and nurturing environment for her loved ones was a testament to her strength, resilience, and undying love.
Lana was a member of the PEO and had a passion for fishing. Her love for the sport was only matched by her fervent and avid support for the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. Lana’s presence at family gatherings and sporting events, cheering on her favorite teams, will be profoundly missed.
Lana was best described as loving, generous, and funny. Her warm laughter and kind heart made her a joy to be around. She had an uncanny ability to uplift those around her, and her infectious humor brought light and joy to every occasion. Lana’s legacy will live on in the love and laughter she shared with us all. Lana’s selfless nature and her willingness to lend a hand to those in need were hallmarks of her generous spirit. She would have been so proud knowing she was able to continue this trait up until the end of her life by being an organ donor.
Memorial services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. The family encourages those in attendance to feel free to wear any Kansas City Chiefs or Kanas City Royals attire. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to First Christian Church, Webb City, Missouri, to help with their mission to Con Mis Manos, in care of Knell Mortuary.
