Despite the obstacles that injury, vacation and covid-19 have thrown their way, the Carthage Tiger Wrestling team has remained busy and focused the last couple of weeks. With tournaments at Farmington, MO and the Carthage Holiday Duals for the varsity team and the McDonald County Junior Varsity Tournament, many wrestlers have still managed to maintain a regular schedule.
Beginning with Farmington, the varsity team took first place in a dual tournament against several Missouri powerhouse teams.
Here are the results from the Farmington Duals on 12/12/20. Carthage went 4-0 on the day to take 1st place. We were without Braxton Tate at 152(injured), Obed Gonzalez(ACT) at 195, and Alexis Vasquez(ACT) at 285.

Here are the results from the Carthage Holiday Duals on 12/19/20. This dual tournament was set up when Harrisonville had to cancel their tournament because of Covid-19. Ironically enough, Coach Kenny Brown tested positive for covid-19 two days before the tournament and was forced to watch online as coaches Petticrew and Kelly ran the show. Carthage finished 3-1 on the day after tying with Camdenton forced tiebreaker criteria allowing the Lakers the victory because they had no open weight classes. Once overall points were added because three teams went 3-1, and Carthage’s open weight classes set them just two points short of the first place finish. Camdenton, Carthage, and Ozark were all 3-1 on the day. Carthage is next up in another home dual tournament on 12/30/20 starting at 11:00AM. Participating schools are Carthage, Monett, Nixa, Ray-Pec, Columbia Hickman, and Fatima.
