CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage men pulled off a decisive win, 43-18, over the Bentonville West wrestling team to start off Christmas break.  With wins in nine of fourteen weight classes on the night, the Tigers dominated from weight class 120 to 157.  Additional wins came at 175 and 285 pounds, respectively.  Seniors Tanner Putt, Wyatt Hole, Emerson Ixcol and Jaxton Lopez all clocked 6-point falls during their matches.

The matchups on the ladies’ side proved to be a little more disjointed in the Tigers’ 36-30 loss to Bentonville West.  Sophomore, Irish Lee (145 lbs.), was the only wrestler with a match to record a win on the evening, with Diana Juarez (125 lbs.) and Adrianna Patrick (170 lbs.) losing by fall in their matches.  With forfeits by Bentonville at weight classes 100, 105, 110 and 115, Carthage had too many holes in the lineup overall to pull out a victory on the evening.

The night was highlighted with a spotlight on the ten seniors and their families before the matches began.  Each senior stated their fondest memories during the season and their plans for the future.  These brief bios are shared below, and we wish our seniors success in the second half of their season and future plans.
