With just three weeks remaining in the 2025 legislative session, the Missouri General Assembly is making steady progress on impactful legislation. This week, more bills crossed the finish line and now head to Governor Mike Kehoe’s desk for his signature.
Honoring the Lives and Legacy of Davy and Natalie Lloyd
This week, the Missouri General Assembly truly agreed to and finally passed HB 810, designating a portion of U.S. Highway 60 in Newton County as the “Lloyd Memorial Highway.” The stretch runs from Kodiak Road east to Cemetery Road and will serve as a lasting tribute to Davy and Natalie Lloyd—whose lives embodied love, faith, and service.

Davy and Natalie, the daughter and son-in-law of my friend Missouri State Representative Ben Baker, Neosho, were a shining example of compassion and commitment to others. Both were serving as missionaries in Haiti when they were tragically killed in a violent gang attack in 2024. Though they never sought recognition for their work, their bravery and the strength of their character deserve to be remembered.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will erect and maintain the signs, with all costs funded through private donations—reflecting the deep respect and affection their community holds for them. With the passage of HB 810, Missouri not only honors the memory of two remarkable individuals but also recognizes the profound impact they had through lives devoted to helping others.
I had the pleasure of having several guests in the Capitol this week. Below is a picture of a wonderful young man, Elijah Wolfe. Elijah was the recipient of the Missouri Community Service Commission (MCSC) Show Me Service Award AmeriCorps Member of the Year. Elijah was honored during the MCSC 23rd Annual Show-Me Service Awards held Tuesday, April 22, 2025

I had the pleasure of introducing on the floor my friend Karol Owen.
