William “Bill” H. Kahl, 98, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at St. Luke’s Nursing Center. Bill was born on April 12, 1926, in Jasper County to H. A. and Edna Kahl. He was a truck driver for Country Pride from 1960 until he retired. While he was there, he completed over a million miles without an accident. He was a member of the Carthage Men’s Bowling Association, used to golf, and was an avid fisherman. He once caught a 36 lb. 12 oz. striped bass out of Beaver Lake. He was a member of the Whitney Mountain Glass Chapel outside of Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Bill was united in marriage to Dorothy McNary on May 30, 1948, in Webb City, Missouri; she preceded him in death on August 15, 2023.
He is survived by a daughter, Dianne Kahl Klouse of Claremore, Oklahoma; and a brother, Lloyd Kahl of Avilla, Missouri; five grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by a son, Bill Jacobs; two brothers, Charles Kahl, and Herbert W. Kahl; and a sister Faye Collier.
There will be a memorial service held for Bill at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.
Your brother, Charles put in my water and sewer lines in Jasper, Missouri back in 1996 and I never had a bit of trouble out of either of them in 19 years I lived there. He was an awesome plumber and a good man. May the LORD comfort your family.
