Silas (Sam) Maggard, 69 of Carthage, MO. passed away August 14th 2022. He was born August 18th 1952 to Roy (Shorty) and Edna Maggard. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank Maggard and sisters Flora Ann and Rachel Maggard.

He had 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Sam served in the Army and he worked at the Quarry (CCL) in Carthage for over 20+years.
Anybody that knew him could tell you his biggest passion was for cars. He was always dealing with vehicles buying, selling, and trading. He always said his dream job would be owning a car lot but settled for it as a hobby instead. Taking a fast car on a backroad and ‘blowing the cobwebs out of the motor’ was his happy time. It was thru this passion he met alot of new people. He loved to Hot Rod. He will be missed by many family and friends.
Sam was cremated per his wishes under Ozark Memorial in Joplin.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life on August 28th 2022 from 12pm-4pm at the Carthage Memorial Hall.
