Ruth Ann Hill Beckett, 68, Carthage, Mo., passed away Thursday evening, June 4, 2020, at her home with family by her side.
Ruth was born January 27, 1952, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of the late Howard Hill and Jeanie (Burt) Hill. She was a 1970 graduate of Carthage High School, and then attended Missouri Southern State College. Ruth married Bruce Beckett on June 25, 1971, in Carthage, Missouri. She worked as a computer operator and bookkeeper for Steadley Company and Leggett & Platt in Carthage. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, The Sistah Souls Scrapbooking Group, and Spare Cat Rescue. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, scrapbooking, and making crafts, loved cats, but most of all, loved her family. She was a lifelong member of the Webb City Church of God, Webb City, Missouri.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Bruce; one daughter, Rachel Beckett, Carthage; one brother, Burt Hill; one sister, Susan Pinkley; and a host of other family and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one infant brother, Gary Francis Hill.
Visitation will be held 3-6 pm, Monday, June 8, 2020, at the Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at the Carthage Nazarene Church, Carthage. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to Spare Cat Rescue in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
