Roberta K. Martin, 63, of Carthage, MO passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.
Roberta was born January 26, 1957, to George and Dorothy Lucille “Grau” Minard. Roberta had been a Carthage resident for the past 34 years. She loved attending online services at King’s Chapel in Springfield, MO where her daughter Felicia and son-in-law Matt are the lead pastors. She ran an in-home daycare for over 15 years and took care of many children who came through her doors. After closing her daycare, Roberta pursued a career with Mercy Hospital where she served for 10 years.
Roberta was united in marriage to Dennis Martin on July 30, 1976 in Knoxville, IA; he survives.
Roberta is survived by three daughters, Felicia Schmidly (Matt) of Republic MO, Tamara Cox (Mark) of Little Rock AR, and Heather Reed (Robert) of Carthage MO; one brother, Jim Minard of Texas; two sisters, Georgia Moller of Oklahoma and Becky McMullin (Roberta’s twin) of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Will, Kaytlin, Reagan, Stella and Audrey Schmidly, Nathan Filek and Jill Reed.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2020, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Committal Ceremony will be at Park Cemetery following the service.
