Mildred Ellen Flippo, 97 passed away May 11, 2020, at St Luke’s nursing center.
Mildred was born August 3, 1922, in Seneca, Missouri to Joseph Franklin Slater and Lorena May “Clark” Slater. She was a lifetime Carthage resident and was a Nurses Aid for 28 years. Mildred attended the Fellowship Baptist Church of Carthage.
Mildred was married to Coy Mitchell May 18, 1940, and he preceded her in death February 14, 1970. Mildred married Robert Flippo in 1971 and he preceded her in death April 26, 2015.
Mildred is survived by two daughters; Ronda K. Hakala, and Carolyn Barlow both of Carthage, one son Rex Mitchell of Carthage, 24 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
Mildred is preceded in death by one daughter Loretta May Hendrix and one son Coy Eugene Mitchell, one sister Dorothy May Campbell, two brothers Edward James Slater and Ronnie Joe Slater.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery.
