Jerad Ray Housh, 40, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri.
Jerad, the youngest of two children, was born August 9, 1983, in Joplin, Missouri, to Don and Dana (Murray) Housh. He started his education in Avilla, Missouri, and graduated from Carthage High School in 2002. After High School Jerad worked at the family farm implement until it closed in 2005. In 2016 Jerad started at SMC Electric Joplin/Springfield in the Joplin location as an Account Manager.
In 2007, Jerad was united in marriage to Lacey Barton on October 13, in Joplin, Missouri. Jerad and Lacey had one child, Creed Housh in 2013.
Jerad enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his free time, you would find him coaching his son, golfing with Creed and his work friends, or out on the dirt being Creed’s #1 fan.
There are not enough words to describe Jerad. Jerad had a contagious smile and the heart of a bear. He was a loyal husband, dad, son, brother, and uncle. Jerad was always the life of any party. His charismatic personality and witty sense of humor kept everyone laughing.
Jerad leaves this life as a hero by choosing to be an organ donor. Even after leaving this world his love lives on through those who knew and loved him as well as some he never met. He will be forever missed.
Jerad is survived by his wife, Lacey Housh; a son, Creed Housh (10), of the home; his parents, Don and Dana Housh of Reeds, Missouri; one brother, Travis Housh and wife, Morgan, of Carthage, Missouri; and a niece, Quinn Housh (7), of Carthage, Missouri. Jerad is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Terry and Sonda Barton as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jerad is proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bill and Ellen Housh; maternal grandmother, Shirley Murray; and grandfather, Eugene Murray.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Bykota Church in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Bykota Church. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri.
