Janette D. Hodson, 90, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at Joplin Gardens. Janette was born August 30, 1930, in Brookfield, MO to Alva Lee and Mary E. (Bailey) Shouse. She was a homemaker, an Avon Representative for 46 years and a member of the First Baptist Church in Carthage.
Janette was united in marriage to Marvin “Brownie” Hodson on November 25, 1950, in Carthage; he preceded her in death July 12, 1996.
Janette is survived by one daughter, Mary Terry of Carthage; one sister, Billie “Sue” Mieswinkel of Mt. Vernon, MO; two brothers, Tom Shouse of Joplin, MO and Charles Shouse of Chillicothe, MO, along with five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Janette was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Hodson and Burney Hodson; three brothers, Frank, Donald and David Shouse.
A celebration of life visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
