Glenna Dell (Barr) Garber, 91, passed from this life to her eternal reward on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. She was the consummate daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend as portrayed in Proverbs 31. She walked with the Lord her whole life and loved all who she encountered, most of all her family.
Born June 18, 1929, in Baxter Springs, Kansas, she was the daughter of James Glenn Barr and Ruth Mae (Mitchell) Barr. She was a 1947 graduate of Riverton High School, Riverton, Kansas, and then went on to attend Bethany-Peniel College. She married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, B.J. Garber, on November 28, 1948, in Lowell, Kansas.
She is survived by her four children, Paul Garber (Terry), Brian Garber (Deb), Janet Brown and Stuart Garber (Heidi); grandchildren, Geoffrey Garber (Jessica) and Mallory Roberts (Kelly), Kara, Terrin (Reagan) and Jarret (Dakota) Garber, Ashley Hlavin (Justin) and Matt Brown (Jacquelyn), Channing Brown (Taylor), Jayne-Stuart, Hamilton and Campbell Garber; great-grandchildren, Abigail and Preston Hlavin, Natalie, Savannah and Lucy Garber, Evan Brown and Parker Jean Garber, with two more coming soon; brothers and sister, James Barr, Don Barr (Johanna) and Martha Krispense (Steve); and many other relatives. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, B.J. Garber and parents and her stepmother, Kathryn Barr.
The funeral will be at Carthage First Church of the Nazarene on Monday, October 26 at 10 a.m. Social distancing and masks are requested by the family. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
