Edward Hoffman, 84, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, in Carthage, Missouri. Edward was born October 10, 1938, in Redding, Iowa to Chester Hoffman and Vera Nye. Edward served his country in the U. S. Navy for four years. He was a photographer and spent some time in the Philippines. Edward was an avid reader and loved history. He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering.
Edward was united in marriage to Loretta Whitehead May 24, 1959, in Murray, Iowa; she preceded him in death July 9, 2016.
Edward is survived by his son, Mark Hoffman and his wife, Jennifer, of Webb City, Missouri; four daughters, Wendy Nachtigall and husband, Bruce, of Rapid City, South Dakota; Teresa Hoffman and husband, Lanny Berg, of Seattle, Washington; Julie Nieman and husband, Mark, of Diamond Harbour, New Zealand; and Misty Pinkard and husband, James, of Neosho, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Rachel, Rhianna, Caleb, Kelsey, Colby, Mandalyn, Jacob, Hanna, and Haylee; eight great grandchildren, Skyler, Violette, Autumn, Justice, Honour, Mallarie, Amielia, and Avery; and two sisters, Myrtle Hightshoe-Smith-Arrick and husband, Arnold, and Theona Wilburn and husband, Leon.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Hoffman; his parents, Chester and Vera Hoffman; and his brother, Harry Hoffman.
A Celebration of Life will be held by family and friends at a later date.
