Jasper County Sheriff’s Department investigating body found in ditch, search for suspicious vehicle continues

At around 5:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16, Jasper County Deputies were notified of a possible deceased male in the ditch on Interstate 44 near the 14.8 mile marker.

The male was identified as Jesse Gilmore, 63, from Oklahoma. Next of kin has been notified and an autopsy is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 20.

Investigators are currently looking for a vehicle related to this incident. A red 2010 Chevy Cobalt bearing Oklahoma license plate PIH667. There is significant damage to the passenger side rear door. If anyone has seen this vehicle in the past 24 hours or has knowledge of where it is currently located, please call JASCO at 417-359-9100 and ask for Det. Cady.

Jasper County detectives are currently working this death investigation in conjunction with the Missouri Highway Patrol.
