Donald Lee Osmon “Big Bear,” Jr., 60, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Thursday evening, January 21, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.
Donald was born April 24, 1960, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Donald Lee Osmon, Sr., and Pauline Hoaglin. He worked as a personal mechanic. Donald married Laura Bysor on October 18, 1989. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, putting together model cars, fishing, and loved listening to music. He was a vast collector of many different items, and really enjoyed going out to add more finds to his numerous collections. He loved to tell jokes and tease his girls. Donny was a strong loving father and fought hard till the end to stay with us.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Laura Osmon; three daughters, Tiffany Osmon, Carthage, Cortney Osmon, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Torey Jackson, Lincoln, Nebraska; one son Joshua Peddicord, Windsor; two grandchildren, Peyton Osmon and Jessalyn Osmon; a brother, Randy Osmon, Cloquet, Minnesota; two sisters, Arthena Sears, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Cindy Dowdell, Mason City, Iowa; a brother-in-law, Daniel Bysor, Carthage; a sister-in-law, Dorothea Watson, Carthage; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Osmon, Sr.; his mother, Pauline Shade; a sister, Christina Osmon; and his beloved dog, Brownie.
