Born in Carthage, Missouri, David became a resident of Kansas City with his family (Eloise and Sterling Mills) as a child. He graduated from Southeast High School, entered the Navy and was honorably discharged. He worked as a draftsman for Bendix Corporation, returning to Carthage in 1970 with his wife Judith (Dalrymple, who passed in 2001) and raised a family. A life-long Catholic, he volunteered in his local parishes. He was a dispatcher for Big Smith, and later a draftsman for Leggett and Platt from which he retired.
He moved to Virginia in 2005, and succumbed to Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease at the age of 84 on Nov. 26th, 2020 in Harrisonburg, VA.
He is survived by a son and a daughter, four grandchildren, his sister and brother-in-law, and multiple nieces and nephews. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, Dec. 1. at Rest Haven Cemetery through the Lindsey Funeral Home.
