Barbara Joan (Dunkle) Jack, 76, Carthage, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 16, 2018. She was born Feb. 25, 1942 in LaRussel, Mo. She was the daughter of the Late Bert & Bertha (Royster) Dunkle. She attended the LaRussel, Sarcoxie and Carthage school systems.
She worked for Juvenile Shoes until she retired in 1990. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Carthage.
She married Phillip S. Jack, Sr. on March 22, 1994 in Miami, Okla. They spent the last 24 years traveling and enjoying retirement together.
She is survived by: her husband Phillip; two daughters: Carla (Cook) Stipcak, Summerville, S.C., Marsha (Cook) Smyth, (Derek) Carthage; one step-son, Phil Jack, Jr., (Julie) Edna, Kan.; three brothers: Donald Dunkle (Kay) Webb City, Larry Dunkle (Shurley) Carthage, and Michael Dunkle, Carthage; three sisters: Brenda Pohlman, Carthage, Beverly Allen (Rob) Carthage, and Janice Silvers (Jack) Carthage; six grandchildren: Donya (Dan), Colin (Courtney), Jordan (Shannon), Morgan (Preston), Drake (Gina), and Keaton; four step-grandchildren: Jack (Jessica), Emily, Sam (Hannah), and Issac (Tiffiny); six great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters: Erma Stark, Evelyn Dunkle, Thelma Barton and Carolyn Hill; two brothers: RonDale Dunkle and Gary Dunkle; one stepdaughter: Mardine Wilson and her husband Heath.
A celebration of life visitation will be held Nov. 27, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the home of her daughter at 9633 County Road 118, Carthage, Mo., 64836. The family will have a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
