SARCOXIE, Mo. — On September 1st, 2024, at approximately 1:20 PM, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies and detectives responded to 117 S. 12th Street in Sarcoxie in reference to an individual with a gunshot wound.
The injured male was identified as Bryan Jones, 39 years of age of Sarcoxie.
Jones was transported to a local hospital in Joplin with a non-life threatening, single gunshot wound.

The shooter has been identified and is cooperating with law enforcement. Preliminary investigation indicates this to be an act of self-defense. This is an isolated event and there is no danger to the public. Investigation in the matter continues.
