A Sarcoxie man was killed and a Grove, Oklahoma woman cited for felony driving while intoxicated following a 3-vehicle accident 2:50 p.m. Tuesday on MO 59 in Fidelity.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Hummer H2 driven by Jennifer L. Maupin, 43, Grove, attempted to pass another vehicle and struck a 2014 Kia Soul driven by Tou Xiong, 37, Sarcoxie, head on.
A 2002 Ford Explorer driven by a 37-year-old Diamond man was damaged attempting to avoid the collision.
Jasper County Coroner James Harrison pronounced Xiong dead at the scene at 3:02 p.m.
Maupin, who was treated for serious injuries at Mercy Joplin, was also cited for careless and imprudent driving.
