ODET receives national award

CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team received an Award from the HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas) The Office of National Drug Control on June 30, 2022.

ODET received this National award for being named Outstanding Investigative Effort. This award was based off an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation that ODET worked in 2021 with the FBI, DEA, MSHP, JOPLIN PD and Investigators from Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas.

ODET, with the help of the above-mentioned agencies, was able to successfully indict 23 suspects in the Western District of Missouri. This was a major Drug Trafficking organization that was totally dismantled thanks to this investigation.

ODET Detectives seized 30 pounds of meth, 15 Firearms and $142,000 USC. ODET is made up of Detectives from local agencies along with FBI and DEA. The Midwest HIDTA consist of 58 initiatives in 8 States.

ODET previously won this award in 2013 and 2015.
