Local artist Alice Lynn Greenwood-Mathé featured in online exhibition

Alice Lynn Greenwood-Mathé, Executive Director of artCentral in Carthage, is currently featured in an online exhibition of alumni artists from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. The college recently celebrated the opening of the Windgate Museum on campus with an inaugural alumni online exhibition.

The art@hendrix exhibit was developed to celebrate the progress and diversity of visual art throughout the history of Hendrix College before the opening of the new Windgate Museum of Art and includes over 100 pieces of visual work, in addition to digital catalogs, video programming, podcasts, and a variety of media. In addition to the exhibition, Alice Lynn participated in a panel discussion to discuss her career as an artist and alumni of Hendrix College. The art@Hendrix exhibit is available through May 15, 2021.

Alice Lynn is also a featured writer for Carthage News Online and produces the artNotes from Hyde House column regularly. She began her formal art education at Hendrix College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude, with an emphasis on studio art and theatre design. Alice Lynn has been the Executive Director and Curator at artCentral in Carthage for the past five years.

ArtCentral is the prominent non-profit art gallery in Carthage and features work from a wide array of local artists and traveling exhibitions. The facility is located on 13th street and is open throughout the year as exhibits are scheduled. The next exhibit, Kalidescope, will feature a variety of artists from members of the Joplin Regional Artist Coalition. The exhibit opens with a virtual showing on February 5th featuring an inside look at the exhibition. The gallery will be open Fridays & Saturdays from noon to five through March 13th. artCentral is a Missouri Arts Council Certified ArtSafe Space practicing CDC protocols for the health of our community and guests.
